Sunday.

I sat in the car today for an hour on the Downs this morning. The rain was pattering on the window and the rusty leaves of the Horse Chestnut trees blew around me in the breeze. It is Rememberence Sunday, it always makes me cry. The sky was crying too. Lest we forget.

And let's also not forget all those who are still fighting and dying in numerous conflicts around the world, many of which could have been avoided with more maturity and common sense on all sides.

One of the things I shall miss when my grandfather dies is the link I have through him with a history that, for better or worse, has shaped this country and the world.

Yes..... we must remember them.
We have our freedom and they paid the price..... for us.

Hey, Suburbia, I was actually passing through The Downs on Sunday, Husband and I drove through there to meet up with my old friend in Combe Dingle.

We were back home from up north, to visit relatives (well my Inlaws) in Zummerset for the weekend.

I thought of you as we travelled through Bristol.........

We came off the motorway from Zummerset to Shirehampton around 11 am,observing the 2 minute silence in the car.

Remembrance Sunday has many memories for me, from my childhood, and always makes me sad too.
